Christopher Walken: Unplugged and Unbothered

No Cell, No Email, Just DVDs

Christopher Walken lives in a world untouched by modern tech. He doesn’t own a cell phone, has never sent an email, and watches TV only via a satellite dish. To see his own show Severance, Apple had to mail him DVDs. “I don’t have technology,” Walken admitted. “I’ve never emailed or, what do you call it, Twittered.”

Despite his analog lifestyle, Walken’s career is thriving. He earned an Emmy nomination for Severance and played Emperor Shaddam IV in Dune: Part Two. As for returning in Dune Messiah, he simply takes jobs as they come. “I don’t make choices. I take the next best thing.” Even in Hollywood, Walken moves to his own rhythm—no phone, no emails, just pure cinema.
