Diddy Vows to Beat Charges in Jail Call with Kanye West
The music mogul says he’s focused on freedom and happiness despite his legal battle.

Diddy remains confident he’ll beat the charges against him, sharing his determination during an emotional jail call with Kanye West. In audio obtained by The Shade Room, Diddy thanked Ye for being the “only one” checking on him and his kids, encouraging the rapper to get back to dominating the stage. “When I get out, I want to see you tearing down stadiums,” Diddy told Ye, adding, “This shit is fucking sad. I’m Puff Daddy in jail. The devil is a liar.” The call, which later appeared in a now-deleted Kanye song called “Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine,” featured guest vocals from Ye’s daughter North West, Diddy’s son Christian “King” Combs, and singer Jasmine Williams.
The track ends with a classic Diddy-style beat switch, complete with his iconic “As we proceed!” ad-lib, echoing Biggie’s “My Downfall.” Meanwhile, Diddy’s upcoming trial has been delayed by a week to resolve jury selection and evidence disclosure issues, now set for May 12. He also pleaded not guilty to a superseding indictment accusing him of exploiting employees with grueling hours under threats of harm. Despite the charges, Diddy remains defiant, telling Ye: “I’m gonna beat this shit… We gon’ raise our families and become the kings we’re supposed to be.”
