Emails Flood In For Mangione

Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is receiving a wave of letters and emails while detained at the State Correctional Institution Huntingdon in Pennsylvania. According to corrections officials, Mangione has received 33 emails and six pieces of mail as he awaits an extradition hearing following his arrest in connection to the December 4 shooting outside the New York Hilton Midtown.

The arrest unfolded after a McDonald’s customer in Altoona, Pennsylvania, recognized Mangione and tipped off police. Authorities reported finding a gun, a mask, and incriminating writings linking him to the crime. While Mangione faces gun and forgery charges in Pennsylvania, Manhattan prosecutors have filed five counts against him, including intentional murder.

Extradition proceedings remain ongoing, with New York Gov. Kathy Hochul indicating readiness to escalate the matter if Mangione resists being transferred to New York. His lawyer, Thomas Dickey, maintains that Mangione plans to contest the charges, urging the public to withhold judgment until the legal process unfolds.
