Finding emails in a cluttered inbox is about to get easier. Gmail is rolling out an AI-powered search upgrade that prioritizes relevance over simple keyword matches. Instead of listing emails chronologically, the new system factors in recency, most-clicked messages, and frequent contacts—bringing the emails you actually need to the top.

This smarter search is now available globally for personal Google accounts on both web and mobile. Users can switch between “most relevant” and “most recent” results for better control. While this update is currently for personal users, Google plans to expand it to business accounts soon.
