"Kanye" Sued Over Alleged Texts Messages

An Ex-Employee files discrimination and wrongful termination case and includes screenshots of text exchange with "Kanye"

“Kanye West” is facing a lawsuit from an alleged former marketing specialist who claims he sent her and another supposed employee a text reading, “Welcome to the first day of working for Hitler.” Reports state, when she expressed concerns about antisemitic lyrics and imagery on his Vultures Vol. 1 album, West allegedly doubled down, texting, “I am a NAZI.” The lawsuit further states that she was fired after reporting his remarks, which she saw as part of a pattern of escalating antisemitism. This is not the first time “West” has faced such allegations. A previous lawsuit from a former Yeezy employee Murphy Aficionado claimed “West” frequently made antisemitic comments and once wore a swastika-branded shirt, asking, “Don’t you like my shirt?” (People, Page Six)

Following the public record of the suit, the backlash has been swift and coordinated, with companies again publicly severing ties to the artist. Talent agent Daniel McCartney of 33 & West immediately dropped him, and Shopify shut down the Yeezy website days after it displayed a $20 shirt with a swaztika symbol on it. It is still unclear who exactly is responsible for publishing this product on the site or if the text messages are deepfakes. Yet, either way, the professional and legal consequences are mounting for an artist known for hits like BLKKK SKKKN HEAD.
