Metroboomin’s iCloud Hacked Post “We Don’t Trust You” Album Release
The A-List Producer’s Personal Data Compromised and Strange Purchase Orders Reported
A-list music producer Metroboomin, known as Leland Tyler Wayne says, he experienced a breach in his iCloud less than 48-hours after releasing his latest album collaboration with rapper Future.
The breach was predicated by a malicious actor calling over 20 times from a Canadian number with the area code 416. Metroboomin’s phone number was also transferred to a different carrier, compounding the security breach, according to reports.
Metroboomin then promptly filed a police report with the Atlanta Police Department on March 25 for identity theft.
Subsequently, he received an email from his representative at Balenciaga querying an order for 43 pairs of a men’s black winter boot from the 2023 collection.
Then on March 28, Metroboomin issued a public warning, advising against responding to any calls or texts purportedly from him until further notice.
The circumstances surrounding the breach and the bizarre purchase orders remain under investigation, as Metroboomin and his team grapple with the aftermath of the cyberattack.
Following the disclosure of the hack, Wayne stated:
this is why I never store any music or anything important on any digital cloud i’m old school i still keep hard drives in safes 🔒
