Sheriff’s deputies raced to the scene after claims a Black woman had been shot and others were still inside. But when they got there? Silence. No one was home — and no crime had occurred.

This isn’t Nicki’s first run-in with swatting. In 2023, false calls claimed her child was being abused and someone had been shot at her residence. Law enforcement has yet to identify the caller behind this latest hoax, which was made through the sheriff’s business line, not 911.

All of this comes on the heels of a tragic swatting in Atlanta involving rapper Young Scooter — one that ended in a fatal injury after he fled police responding to another bogus claim. Nicki and her family? Reportedly not even in California when it all went down.
