Notion Mail Lets You Build the Inbox of Your Dreams If You’re Willing to Work for It
Custom filters, visual grouping, and AI labels turn Gmail into a productivity playground—with the familiar Notion twist.

Notion Mail isn’t your average inbox. Just like the main Notion app, this new tool throws out all the usual email rules and hands you the keys to total customization. Want to split emails by day, pin specific contacts to the top, or turn threads into task lists? It’s all doable. The interface lets you group, filter, and tag messages using a system of editable properties—turning your inbox into a mini-CRM, a project manager, or whatever else you need. But the power comes with a learning curve. Like Notion itself, the more time you spend tinkering, the more value you unlock.
Templates help, and the left sidebar makes it easy to build alternate views—say, one for personal mail, another for team projects. For Gmail and Workspace users, it’s already available on the web and Mac, with iOS on the way. The wild card is AI. Notion’s “Auto Label” feature tries to sort your messages based on context, not just keywords—but results can be hit or miss. It’s helpful for catching stuff like delivery updates or newsletters, but might fumble niche topics. And while the basic version is free, AI-powered tools come at a $10/month premium. Still, for email power-users looking to bend their inbox to their will, Notion Mail might be the tool they’ve been waiting for.
