Skydance CEO David Ellison: "We Are Stronger" After Paramount Talks
Ellison Assures Staff of Bright Future Despite Ended Merger Negotiations
Skydance Media CEO David Ellison addressed his team in an email on Tuesday evening, confirming that the company will not be acquiring Paramount Global. Talks ended after months of challenging negotiations with Shari Redstone.
A source revealed that discussions stalled due to issues including the valuation of Redstone’s National Amusements and regulatory concerns.
Ellison praised his team for their dedication during this period, noting their achievements in film, TV, and video game production. “Skydance is stronger than ever because of you, and we are stronger because of this process,” he wrote. “We are smarter, more knowledgeable about our business, and more confident in our future.”
He emphasized the bright future of Skydance, expressing confidence in the company’s potential to continue building a next-generation content company with top-tier resources and talent.
Ellison also acknowledged the ongoing partnership with Paramount, expressing respect for the studio’s legacy and their shared ventures. “Paramount will always hold a special place for me,” he stated. “I value our ongoing partnership and wish them the best.”
Despite the merger not materializing, Ellison assured his team of an exciting future ahead for Skydance.
